Tracy Aviary

We took a field trip to the Tracy Aviary. Neither the kids nor I had ever been there before, so it was fun to see all the cool birds. Not as fun having your mom try and shove your head into a little hole in a painted board, all the while expecting you to smile about it, says Seth.

Our favorite part was by far the little South American section where you could walk into the tropical bird cage and watch the bright colored birds fly around you. Although, Corbin was pretty excited about seeing a real bald eagle, as he has recently learned that they are the symbol of our nation.

I also loved watching Corbin walk around reading the little informational signs posted by each exhibit. He can now read well enough to get through most of the words without help and would run up and read ahead and then come tell me about what each bird ate or where it lived or whatever cool fact he latched on to. He is getting smart and it is fun to watch.
