Little Soccer Girl

Makelle decided to be like her Dad and 'Bubba' and signed up for soccer this year.  She was highly disappointed that she got a green jersey and not a pink one, but she still ended up having a ton of fun... at the games that were not cold and rainy.  If the weather was bad, she had no desire to play though.  One of our favorite moments was just such a game when they had one extra player and so the coach asked if anyone wanted to start out and every single girl's hand shot up.  Slight contrast from Corbin's games where everyone fights over who has to sit out.

But aside from those 2 cold games, she loved playing soccer and even made a goal at one of the games.  She also really loved picking how to style her hair for each game, looking cute is equally important to scoring :)

Girl's soccer is  not nearly as aggressive as the boys' game we discovered, but that worked out because while Makelle doesn't have a very powerful kick, she definitely does a great job of controlling the ball as she dribbles down the field.  It was so fun to watch her play this spring!

Easter

We moved all of our stuff into the house on Saturday and then woke up to celebrate Easter the next morning, so needless to say, our holiday festivities were slightly lacking, but we still had a great time enjoying the day together.

We now have late church at 1 o'clock pm in our new ward here, so we were able to relax and take time to find hidden eggs and enjoy some treats before church.  The kids got spoiled with new swings to hang up out in the backyard and the game "Don't Wake Daddy," which Caleb was in full support of :)

Following the Easter Bunny fun we got all the kids dressed and ready for church and then headed to our new ward for the first time.  It was so fun watching the kids get excited to go to their new classes and hear them talk about all the new friends that were in their age groups.  Makelle was excited that there were 3 girls in her class! Were Corbin was disappointed that there were 3 girls in his class, it is all about perspective, right?

It is fun to be in a new ward that has so many children and families and we are excited to be here.

After church we were going to head over to Jan and Ken's house for a Easter dinner, but we also had plans to stop by Sam and Benson's to Skype with all the Millers.  So we were trying to hurry and arrive at the Hamilton's but getting out of church took us 45 minutes, because everyone was intrigued by the people that bought "the old house by the stables," and everyone had a million questions about our remodel efforts.  Apparently our home is somewhat infamous around and 6 months of watching contractors and subs coming and going from the house has piqued the neighbor's curiosity.

We eventually made it to Jan's and enjoyed a quick dinner together before heading over to see the Miller side of the family.  Since we didn't have internet set up yet, we just brought our laptop to Sam and Benson's and everyone logged on a 5-way call between Shirley and Adam, Celeste and Bryan, Jake and Ashley, Sam and Benson and us.  It was great to see and talk with everyone at the same time.
