In the end Corbin decided to be Darth Vader and we jumped on board encouraging Seth to be Yoda, how do you not with those ears of his :)
I figured R2D2 would be easy to replicate for Jefferson and Caleb was Luke and I was Princess Leia. Star Wars has been done so many times it was easy to find simple ideas for all the characters.
Right up until Makelle approached me and said that she likes the queen with the red dress and makeup on her face. So Queen Amidala in her formal senate gown, with the complicated headdress. It took a bit of creativity but in the end I was able to create a pretty good replica, as long as you don't look too close and notice the spots where I got frustrated and was out of time and busted out the glue gun to finish things :)
Once we got our costumes all glued together at the last minute we headed down to Farmington so the kids could trick or treat with their cousins. All kids wanted to get out the door and beg for candy all the sooner, so we didn't really get very many pictures before they left, but at least we'll remember our fun night.
This is the first year that Seth has really gotten the concept of trick or treating and boy, did he embrace that concept. Our normally reserved little boy was running up to strangers, eager to tell them 'trick or treat.' And for the next few days following Halloween he still kept asking me if he could do trick or treating again.
